Would You Drink Your Coffee from a Toilet?

I usually drink my coffee out of a 12oz glass mug...it is nothing fancy....which is what I like.  I understand a fun mug might make a person feel a little extra happy drinking their morning joe, but I will never understand these mug genres:

Impractical Mug

Although this flip top mug aesthetically is pretty cool.....

I appreciate the place to keep my cookies...but I fail to pay attention just once and drink from the wrong side.....

If I actually keep up with the spoon (which would be lost or broken by weeks end)...I do what with it after I have stirred my coffee?  Pocket perhaps?  Or do I put it back in the cup and drink my coffee with a spoon sticking out of my cup...

Pretty cool artistically...but I already have a hard time with my coffee spilling out and my cup doesn't lean to one side..

Wordy Mug

Coffee mugs are like bumper stickers...keep it short and written in a font size that's reasonable..

Creepy Mug
As a father I feel very uncomfortable picking up a baby by one arm.....but even if the handle was standard I don't think it would change my initial cringe....

After watching a "Caught on Camera" special a few years ago, this is really the last thing I want to think about when I am drinking my hopefully untainted coffee...

A-hole Mug

Yea...I'm gonna kiss you cause you told me to on your mug...and especially since you're loaded..

No office mate...really...you don't look like an total a-hole for drinking your coffee out of a toilet..

Singing Beans

I have no idea what is being sung...but it makes me feel cozy.

Latte Art...In Your Mouth

Yes...this Barista is pouring latte art in his mouth.  He was stepping up to a challenge from a fellow Barista.

Good Coffee Art vs Bad Coffee Art (1)

Coffee art is like coffee itself....nicely executed or leaves a bad taste in your mouth.  Here are a few  good vs bad  I have seen recently:

Coffee poured into mug
I know I used this pic for another post, but it is actually what got me thinking about bad coffee art...what exactly is being poured into that cup of black coffee?

not as good of an art shot, but at least believable.

great execution!

Espresso Shot
ok...even if you are not a trained Barista and may not realize the importance of the espresso shots being the same height...it is pretty obvious these shots either sat too long and lost their crema...or bad shot indeed.

ummm......the longest single shots ever...bleh

nicely executed....at least we have crema

yum!

Coffee Terminology

I get that you are trying to say chocolate coffee....maybe Caf(f)e Mocha might have been more appropriate, because Mocha Java is actually a blend of coffee beans.

Good job!

Spelling of Coffee Terms
not a big fan of coffee play on words in the first place....but eXpresso...c'mon

better with spelling.....espresso shot questionable

spelled right....has crema......no play on words.......nicely executed!

and now I will leave you with what I think is just a great Coffee Art shot:

see you in the am

Coffee by the Decades (50s-60s instant coffee ads)

As the fifties ended and the sixties began, companies began making products for the "the modern woman".   Instant coffee, microwaves, sliced bread...aaahh now that makes a woman's life easier.  Here are a couple of ads from reflecting modernizing times....I find them slightly odd for different reasons:

Umm...I think your beans are on fire....they really shouldn't continue to smoke like that...and you may not want to shove your bare hands in those smoking beans...ouch.

"If I could just make a good cup of coffee I could muster enough self-esteem to leave my sexist jerk of a husband"

Love this one...now that man is modern!  But I have the sneaky suspicion he has more in those flavor buds than he is confessing....are the stars on the jar there before you drink the buds or do they "appear" after?

I am a little nervous for that woman after the crew goes home.....
